The Nutcracker

The Lexington Ballet's Performance of The Nutcracker, December 10, 2011, at the EKU Center for the Arts, will be available for purchase as a DVD or Blu-ray Disc in January 2012, when classes resume. To purchase a DVD or Blu-ray Disc, contact the Lexington Ballet at info@lexingtonballet.org or 859-233-3925. All proceeds from these sales go to the Lexington Ballet.

 Here is an 10 Minute Trailer of the performance. The two clips below will give you a rough idea of the difference between DVD and Blu-ray. Note that Blu-ray is 1080p, but my web server isn't fast enough to stream a trailer at 1080p. For optimal viewing of the 720p trailer, you need a duo-core processor or higher, 4 gigs of RAM, and a fast browser like Google Chrome or Safari.

Production Notes: 

• Total run time: 1 hour and 34 minutes.
• Although there is no menu on the DVD or BD, there are markers in three places, on the overall title slide, and on the title slide  for each Act. You can jump back and forth between Acts 1 and 2 with the "previous" and "next" buttons on your DVD player.
• Set your television or monitor's picture mode to "movie," for optimal viewing.
